The worm
Ed Atkins
What is really happening? This was the question associate artist ANOHNI put at the centre for this edition of the Holland Festival. She put together an especially comprehensive and varied programme in which she brought attention to a wide range of themes, from feminism to ecological catastrophes. She reflected on the fraught history of Gerrit van der Veenstraat with the captivating concert The Disintegration Loops (for Euterpestraat), which included a orchestral performance of William Basinski’s tapeloops.
Julian Rosefeldt’s impressive installation Euphoria was featured at the Central Market Hall for over two weeks. And in Meredith Monk and Laurie Anderson, the festival brought two of the greatest women in contemporary music to Amsterdam.

From the festival:
Welcome to the Holland Festival archive! The history of our festival dates back to 1947. Through the programs of each festival edition we aim to tell this history here. Currently our archive has been digitised from 1990 onwards, more history is to follow soon. Sadly some information is only available in Dutch but we aim to be as bilingual as possible.
