Archive 2021
2021 saw the festival working with two associate artists: Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto and French-Austrian theatre maker Gisèle Vienne, who brought both existing work and new productions. Sakamoto opera TIME had its world premiere, alongside Vienne’s latest production L’Ëtang. The Planet – A Lament by the Indonesian director Garin Nugroho had been planned to open the 2020 festival, and thankfully could be presented after all this year. This edition furthermore featured sheep onstage, a performance in the forest, a podcast version of the Walküre in the virtual world, and a great many films, at Eye, but also on Picl.

Welcome!
Welcome to the Holland Festival archive! The history of our festival dates back to 1947. Through the programs of each festival edition we aim to tell this history here. Currently our archive has been digitised from 1990 onwards, more history is to follow soon. Sadly some information is only available in Dutch but we aim to be as bilingual as possible. For additions or tips send an email to [email protected].
