Welcome to Asbestos Hall

HF Lab x DEGASTEN: WAKKA

Free ticket

Copyright information:Lieve de Boer

A performance that combines dance, theatre and fashion, about the path you’ve walked and how this shaped you as who you are now - and who you’d like to become. Made with and by 15 young people, inspired by the work of associate artist Trajal Harrell.

This year, the HF Lab programmers will dive into Trajal Harrell’s work in around 10 sessions together with DEGASTEN and work towards an own performance based on the theme of identity. What moments in your life shaped you? Where do you often or rarely walk, and where would you like to walk to?

WAKKA is part of Welcome to Asbestos Hall. This project forms the basis for the programmers, who explore themes like identity, expression and fashion. Welcome to Asbestos Hall, inspired by Tatsumi Hijikata’s original Asbestos Hall in Tokyo, will be a space for experimentation, development and artistic encounters.

About HF Lab
With the new youth programme HF Lab, the Holland Festival actively involves young people in the festival and offers them a look behind the scenes, practical experience and a stage where they can share their vision, creations and experiences. With three different trajectories - HF Lab students, HF Lab programme makers and HF Lab production team - the Holland Festival provides performance visits and workshop series, selects 15 young programme makers who are part of the festival and offers practical work experience to MBO students.
