The Malian filmmaker and thinker Manthia Diawara’s film Édouard Glissant: One World in Relation (2009) follows the Martiniquan philosopher, writer and poet Édouard Glissant on a boat trip across the Atlantic. Glissant (1928-2011) is one of the most influential figures in Caribbean literature. Faustin Linyekula considers him a great source of inspiration. Rapper Abd Al Malik uses his texts in his performance Le jeune noir à l’epée, which can also be seen in the festival. The film is about Glissant’s life’s work. Afterwards there will be a conversation with Manthia Diawara.
