From radios to turntables, and from water-filled conch shells to an electronically amplified giant cactus: John Cage would stretch the meaning of ‘percussion’ to the limit. At the Cage weekend, Dutch percussion ensemble Slagwerk Den Haag will play an exciting selection of Cage’s works. On Saturday you can enjoy Inlets, Third Construction and Imaginary landscape no. 3.On Sunday the ensemble continues with Imaginary landscape no. 4 and the twin works for plant materials Child of Tree and Branches. They conclude with the dadaist … But what about the noise …, in which water and paper fulfil a central role.
