Vitor Hamamoto

Profile

Vitor Hamamoto (1993, Brazil) is a dancer with a Japanese/Brazilian background. He started studying dance at the age of 15 under various professionals, touching many genres and schools through the years, focusing on urban dance. His introduction to contemporary art heavily informed his style, allowing for greater depth in his study of improvisation.

In 2017, he joined Uppercut Dance Theatre in Copenhagen, Denmark, and worked with them for over two years. Today, he is part of Grupo Cena 11, a Dance company formed around the relations between the body, it’s surroundings, and objects. Their research merges theory and practice, questioning the definition of a body and its connection to technology.
