Table Music immerses you into a total concept of music and performance. With instrumental mastership and intuitive interaction, Scandinavian ensemble Sekten evoke a world very much of their own, weaving in subtle theatrical elements. The band members move freely through a musical landscape that ranges from unbound soundscapes to intimate stories, from polished songs to raw music featuring furious percussion and experimental guitars. At the centre of the music is the characteristic vocal of Qarin Wikström, also known for her work with Efterklang. Sometimes ethereal, then ominous she synthesises influences from jazz, pop and Scandinavian folk.
