Choreographer Jérôme Bel was introduced to dancer and choreographer Pichet Klunchun in Bangkok in 2004. Klunchun is one of the best masters of Khon in Thailand. Bel had only a vague idea of what this tradition involved at that time and Klunchun knew nothing about Bel’s own work. Pichet Klunchun and myself is an account of how Bel and Klunchun got to know each other. On the stage stand two artists with completely different cultural and artistic backgrounds. They are linked by a sensitivity to society, a great feeling for humour and an unbelievably open and curious approach to life.
