Picnic at the Oosterpark with Verdi's comic masterpiece Falstaff on the big screen

True to its traditions the Holland Festival will present an opera screening in the open air at the beautiful Oosterpark in Amsterdam. You are invited to bring your own picnic and enjoy an opera which is shown on a big screen simultaneously with the performance at the National Opera & Ballet. Giuseppe Verdi’s Falstaff is a scintillating comic opera about Shakespeare’s burlesque creation the big, fat and boastful knight Sir John Falstaff. The music is performed by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the choir of the Dutch National Opera under the direction of Daniele Gatti. This new staging has received rave reviews in London and Milan. The leading Falstaff interpreter of our time, Ambrogio Maestri, stars as Falstaff. The entrance to the park is free of charge.
