A catastrophic event plunges a small village into a deep crisis. The community seems unable to deal with its grief collectively. The ceremony tomark the anniversary a year later goes completely off the rails. From that moment there is nothing but trouble ahead. Underlying tensions mix with unresolved emotions. The villagers are confronted with a series of traumatic incidents. It seems this course of disaster needs to be completely run before salvation can come, which it does from an unexpected quarter. Writer/director Jan Lauwers’ story, with music from Rombout Willems, Maarten Seghers and Hans Petter Dahl, humorously denounces the serious lack of solidarity in our modern society.
