Can you imagine life in a country that is not yours because others have appropriated it? In Faustin Linyekula’s Not Another Diva ... one of the actresses asks herself how she can dream about a future for herself and those around her in such a country. Mister Motley – an online magazine connecting visual art and life – and Holland Festival are compiling a programme on landlessness in the spring of 2019. With articles on utopian thinking, interviews with festival artists, photo reports about pieces of Dutch wasteland, travel reports about countries which no longer exist and essays on how art can never be restricted by national borders. This programme ends with a meeting in which we, together with writers and artists, evalute our findings.
