Young Brazilian choreographer Bruno Beltrão and his Grupo de Rua delighted audiences all over the world with their previous works H2 and H3. Now, for the first time, they are visiting the Holland Festival with a new piece Dança morta (Dead dance). Beltrão grew up with streetdance and later studied contemporary dance and philosophy. His radical choreographies are rooted in the explosive physicality of hip hop. In his work, Beltrão brilliantly abstracts everyday reality using a very contemporary language of dance. The prominent dance magazine Ballettanz voted Beltrão ‘rising star choreographer of the year’.
