Toonzetters is a meeting place for Dutch composers with the aim to acquaint a broad audience with the scope and variety of new Dutch music. Featuring former winners such as Richard Rijnvos, Robin de Raaff, Seung-Ah Oh and Yannis Kyriakides, the initiative has in the last five years grown into the leading event for contemporary composed music from the Netherlands. As in previous years, this fifth anniversary of the event will have a longlist of ten compositions which premièred in the past season. Over two concerts an extensive selection of the longlist will be performed. The finale of the event will as always be the award ceremony for the Buma Toonzetters Prize, the winner being chosen by an international professional jury.
