Stephen Galloway (USA) is a globally acclaimed dancer, costume designer and creative director. Although he is best known for his 25-year career in ballet and dance theatre, his work spans many related fields, from musical performance to fashion photography, magazine publishing and brand consultancy.
He began his artistic journey at the Frankfurt Ballet at 17, where he stayed as a principal dancer for 18 years until 2004. In 1990, he was appointed as style coordinator and head costume designer, which started his long love affair with costume design. During his tenure as the head costume designer, he received a Bessie Award for best costumes for his work on a dance piece Eidos: Telos, which was choreographed by Forsythe. He has since made costumes for the American Ballet Theatre and the Paris Opera.
Galloway has served as a creative consultant and choreographer for The Rolling Stones since 1997 and regularly collaborates with the Dutch fashion photographer duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
