Sigur Rós are known throughout the world for their loud, dreamy post-rock. Now, for the first time, the band will be giving an orchestral concert with songs from the past twenty-five years as well as songs from the new album.
Working with conductor Rob Ames and the London Contemporary Orchestra, Sigur Rós will be giving their very first series of orchestral concerts. The tour coincides with the release of the Icelanders’ first studio album in 10 years, with orchestral recordings from sessions with the London Contemporary Orchestra at London’s legendary Abbey Road studios. Sigur Rós founders Jónsi and Georg Holm will be accompanied by former member Kjartan Sveinsson, who re-joined the band in 2021.
