The world famous Kronos Quartet take over Amsterdam’s Tolhuistuin to offer a look under the bonnet of the Kronos engine. During the first part of the day you are welcome to watch the quartet give four coaching sessions to three string quartets from the Netherlands String Quartet Academy (Quatuor Yako, the Nostos Quartet and the Ebonit Saxophone Quartet) and the Ragazze Quartet, helping them to master pieces from the Kronos repertoire. The Kronos Quartet and their long-time manager Janet Cowperthwaite will also attend a talkshow about the Kronos brand, moderated by musician and cultural entrepreneur Brendan Walsh. There will be ample opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
