Young Mory and Anta meet in Dakar. They have had enough of life in Senegal and plan to go to Paris on a motorbike. Touki Bouki (‘Hyena’s Voyage’) is an African cinema classic. Senegalese filmmaker Djibril Diop Mambéty (1945-1998) used nouvelle vague (French New Wave) techniques to show the modernisation of Senegal. For associate artist Faustin Linyekula this film was influential and inspiring.
