Along with Schnittke, Gubaidoelina and Pärt, Aleksander Knaifel was one of the leading Soviet avant-garde composers who rose to fame in the sixties. Like Pärt, Knaifel has been composing distinctly religiously oriented music since the nineties. No wonder he was pleasantly surprised when he heard that his spiritual work Bridge will be performed alongside a mass of the Dutchman Jacob Obrecht, one of the great masters of 15th century music. The piece for polyclavier and three orchestra’s will be performed by the Radio Kamer Filharmonie with Oleg Malov on keyboards. Erik Bosgraaf will complement the programme with two works forGanassi recorder: Weaver-of-Fictions

by the Australian Liza Lim; and a new work by the Dutch composer Roderik de Man.
