The start of Dutch Composers Day will be early in the morning in Amsterdam as part of the Holland Festival programme. The day will open with a brand-new composition by Anne-Maartje Lemereis, as well as the brand-new city song by Yannis Kyriakides, who has been appointed City Composer of Amsterdam for this occasion. Kyriakides' work will be performed by trombonist Sebastiaan Kemner of the Asko|Schönberg ensemble and composer-performers Aurélie Lierman and Claudio Jacomucci. They will also perform miniatures commissioned by Holland Festival and Asko|Schönberg, which form the basis for the performance Mutability.

The concert at the IJboulevard at the north side of Amsterdam Central Station closes with Gamelan Parade music by composers Sinta Wullur, Maarten Bauer, Hinse Mutter and Krishna Sutedja.

Afterwards, the New Music NOW Express will start its day-long concert marathon, and one can join Splendor for a coffee concert and conversation with composers.
