Coral: Rekindling Venus is a fulldome film that takes the audience on an extraordinary journey into the mysterious world of fluorescent coral reefs and rare marine life. It was made by one of associate artist ANOHNI’s favourite artists – ANOHNI also contributed to the film’s soundtrack.
The film was made especially for digital planetariums, so it comes perfectly into its own in the ARTIS-Planetarium in Amsterdam. Viewers are transported into a magical underwater world where a complex community of extraordinary creatures struggles to survive the increasing threat of climate change. The film is accompanied by music from Max Richter, Christian Fennesz and Ryuichi Sakamoto, Gurrumul, Laurie Anderson, Tanya Tagaq Gillis and ANOHNI.
Lynette Wallworth: ‘My intent is to leave the audience with a sense of wonder for the complexity of the coral community and a deep-felt longing to see it survive.’
