Terrie Ex

Terrie Ex (Westzaan, 1954) started playing guitar when he co-founded The Ex in 1979. Kind of a coincidence; it was the instrument that no one wanted to play. Ever since that moment he played almost 2000 concerts with The Ex.
Next to all The Ex releases Terrie started free improvising. From a little guitar solo on the Awara/Ex 7 “ in 1981, unitl recent tours with Han Bennink of impro groups Offonoff and LeanLeft (with Ken Vandermark, Andy en Paal Nilssen-Love).
In 1996, Terrie drove through 21 countries on the African continent, together with Emma Fischer. They started the TERP label in 2000 for his own impro projects and African music. He produced CD's with amongst others Tsehaytu Beraki, Getatchew Mekuria, Konono No.1 and Mohammed Jimmy Mohammed.
Terrie played with amongst others: Sonic Youth, John Cale, Getatchew Mekuria, Herman Brood, Herr Seele and Kamagurka.
