Ted Huffman

Ted Huffman (19xx, New York) is a writer and director for the stage. A native New Yorker, Huffman studied Humanities at Yale University and apprenticed at San Francisco’s Merola Opera Program. He was a MacDowell Fellow in 2017 with composer Philip Venables. He recently directed L’incoronazione di Poppea for the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, nominated for Best Production at the International Opera Awards 2022 and named in The New York Times’ list of Best Classical Music Performances of 2022; the world premiere of Stefan Wirth’s Girl with the Pearl Earring for Opernhaus Zürich, winner of Opernwelt’s World Premiere of the Year 2022; and the world premiere of Kris Defoort’s The Time of our Singing for La Monnaie, winner of Best World Premiere in the International Opera Awards 2022
