The Bremen Music Robot consists of four separate ‘players’, modelled after the Town Musicians of Bremen, that can capture ambient sounds and convert them into music. These converted vacuum cleaner robots use AI algorithms to interact with their environment. The audience can play music on a phone, and the robot band then completes the melody. The robots were made at a special section of the South Korean modern art museum Art Center Nabi. They are being used to explore the possibilities of artificial intelligence in art. The Chair Walker is also being demonstrated – it is a robotic chair that can decide when and where it moves.
