Ralph van Raat
Profile
Pianist and musicologist Ralph van Raat (Naarden, 1978) gives solo recitals and orchestral concerts in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the United States and has worked with composers like John Adams, Louis Andriessen, Gavin Bryars, Joep Franssens, Arvo Pärt, Tan Dun and John Tavener. A great number of composers have dedicated work to him as well. Apart from his concert practice, Van Raat is connected to the Conservatory of Amsterdam as a teacher of contemporary piano music as well as to the postgraduate programme at the Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo in Turin. The pianist has released a range of internationally successful albums.
