Sara Jansen is a dance scholar and dramaturge based in Brussels. She obtained degrees in Japanese Studies and Performance Studies at NYU and is currently completing a study on choreography and the politics of time in the context of the Japanese postwar avant-garde. Sara writes on performance and has translated work by Japanese playwrights, including Oriza Hirata, Toshiki Okada and Takeshi Kawamura. She was the dramaturge on Trajal Harrell’s most recent production, Caen Amour (2016), and has collaborated on performances by, among others, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker/Rosas and Heine Avdal & Yukiko Shinozaki/fieldworks.
