Menelaos Karamaghiolis

Menelaos Karamaghiolis (1962, Greece) is an Athens-based artist and filmmaker, producing fiction films, documentaries, artist films, installations, and radiomovies. Through his work, he shines a light on real-life neglected heroes and aims to transcend frontiers and stereotypes, serving as an essential tool for dialogue and social change.

He is the founder of Døcumatism, a group of artists, educators, researchers, and filmmakers who aim to find solutions and raise awareness about crucial social issues through the power of cinematography. His work has been shown at international institutions such as the National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens, the Venice Biennale, Rodeo (Piraeus London), Haus N Athen, Serpentine London and the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, among others.
