Does evil produce better art? Do artists deliberately challenge moral boundaries to discover who humans are at their most profound level? In response to the performance Gesualdo by De Warme Winkel and Nederlands Kamerkoor, the literary magazine De Gids is organising a programme at the festival centre on the role of evil in the arts. Conservatory students are singing newly composed madrigals with texts by writers Martijn Benders, Annemarie Estor, Rozalie Hirs en Mischa Andriessen. Presentation by Fiep van Bodegom, with contributions by Maxim Februari, Simone van Saarloos, Arnon Grunberg, Johanna Geels and Bas van Putten a.o.
