Helena Hauff is a German DJ and music producer from Hamburg. She is known for her ‘stripped-down techno and electro tracks’, recorded with analogue instruments and inspired by acid house, EBM and industrial music. Hauff went to art school and previously worked as a DJ in the Hamburg club Golden Pudel, where she organised her own night under the name ‘Birds and Other Instruments’. In 2013, she released her debut EP Actio Reactio. Following a series of releases on different labels, she released her debut album Discreet Desires in 2015. The album came in at 19th place on Rolling Stone’s list of the 20 best EDM and Electronic albums of 2015. In December 2017, Hauff was the first female DJ to win a ‘BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix of the Year’.
