This year, the Holland Festival program at Frascati is curated under the notion of Scar. Scar is a visceral fact, not a symbol or a metaphor. Because all scars take on flesh, act on the body. This performative quality of scars bonds all works of visual art gathered into this program.

Mother

Emma van der Put

A video loop that moves between darkness and light in a powerful meditation on fire, home and connection.

Wilting Flower

Daan Gielis

A glowing neon sculpture as a poignant observation on nature and the transience of life.

INK en Untitled (SMILE)

Monika Mamzeta

Two artworks (video and photography) in which pain turns into liberation, and lightness contrasts with the strength of the body.

O Peixe

Jonathas de Andrade

A tender visual journey about taming nature, love and violence in which fishers escort their catch into death with a warm embrace.
