Visit the festival well prepared? Then join others and dive into themes from the festival programme with literature, storytelling and film.

In the book club, we discuss books that tie in with the Holland Festival’s themes and performances. Young and old, everyone is welcome in the comfortable setting of the Stedelijk Museum’s library. Think of a Sunday morning on the sofa with a cup of tea. Led by a moderator, we will spend the first hour discussing our reading experience. What struck you in particular while reading? What touched you? What did you find frustrating? Afterwards, we will go into the background of the writer and the book itself with an expert we invited.

Book club Marina Abramović

For this Book Club HF Young join forces with Young Stedelijk for a discussion of Walk through walls by Marina Abramović, who has made ground-breaking art for fifty years. In this book she looks inward and candidly recounts her personal history.

As part of the major retrospective of Marina Abramović's work at the Stedeljk Museum, the performance The House with the Ocean View is on show. In collaboration with the Holland Festival, there are three special evening openings for a limited number of visitors: on 8, 11 and 15 June. On 11 June, there will be introductory lectures on performance art especially for members of HF Young and Young Stedelijk.
