Claudia Castellucci
Profile
Claudia Castellucci (Cesena, Italy, 1958) is a dramaturge, choreographer and scholar. Whilst pursuing an education in Architecture at Liceo Artistico and Painting at Accademia di Belle Arti, Bologna, she founded the Societas Raffaello Sanzio along with her brother Romeo, Chiara Guidi, and Paolo Guidi. A theatre company active from 1981, it turned into Societas in 2006, leading to the developmental dispersion of its founding members.
She is the founder of multiple schools on the relation between music, movement, and philosophy, starting in 1989 with the Scuola teatrica della discesa. In 2003, she founded the Stoa, more specifically dedicated to rhythmic movement: the Stoa, held in Cesena at the Teatro Comandini, where the Company is based. In 2009, she founded the dance company Mòra, which then opened up a long period in which she retired from public performance and developed a dance that considers the entirety of rhythm, with its upbeats and downbeats. From this research originates Mòra School in 2015, establishing itself as a company in 2019.
She writes dialogues for some works by her brother, Romeo Castellucci as well as various texts dedicated to dramaturgy, scholastic art and choreography.
