Christopher Rüping
Profile
Theatre director Christopher Rüping (1985, Hannover) makes theatre productions that are both outlandish and sensitive. The actors take centre stage in his work, in which he experiments with new forms and concepts. He makes personal and topical adaptations of classic and modern work. He has worked as a freelance director for Deutsches Theater Berlin, Thalia Theater Hamburg, and Schauspiel Frankfurt, among others, since 2011. He was the permanent director of Münchner Kammerspiele from 2016 to 2019 under the artistic leadership of Matthias Lilienthal.
