William Gaddis’s satirical novel JR, ridiculing the influence of money on American society, was published in 1975. The Flemish group FC Bergman has now adapted the novel into a theatre performance. In this lecture packed with pictures and sounds, historian Doeko Bosscher delves deeper into this period in American history, the era of Watergate, Vietnam, presidents Nixon, Ford and Carter, and of course William Gaddis.
